In a historic political milestone, Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th term on November 20, 2025, at a grand ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan, Patna.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a commanding victory with 202 out of 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections. For the first time in 20 years, Nitish Kumar relinquished the Home portfolio to BJP's Samrat Choudhary.
